Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of Jordan, Professor Jihad Al-Ameri, The Department of Visual Arts organized an initiative entitled "Light and Sound... For Everyone." The initiative was organized and supervised by Dr. Eman Mayah and the Head of the Visual Arts Department, Professor Muhammed Baker Al-Abbas, in cooperation with the Student Guidance Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs at the University of Jordan, represented by the Director of the Student Guidance Department, Ms. Ghada Hamad, and the Head of the Supporting Students with Disabilities Unit, Mr. Hassan Al-Khalil. The initiative took place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, and Sunday, January 4, 2026.
The initiative aimed to invite a group of students with disabilities to participate with students enrolled in the Lighting and Sound Techniques course in their creative projects (designing a sound story for the blind and designing a silent video for the deaf). This participation aimed to support and empower students with disabilities in the field of education, recognizing their unique and creative abilities that enable them to contribute and excel. The initiative also aimed to raise community awareness of their rights and encourage community participation and friendship with them. The participating students praised the importance of this initiative, which promotes the principle of equal opportunities by providing education, training, and creative activities, and fosters a culture of acceptance and diversity, thus opening new horizons for community and economic participation.
