Workshop to Develop Job Market Skills for Interior Design Students

The Department of Design and Visual Communication at the Faculty of Arts and Design, University of Jordan, organized a workshop aimed at developing the skills required by the job market for interior design students. Titled “Business Model for an Interior Designer," the workshop was presented by Dr. Rima Al-Hassan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration and Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance and Local Accreditation at the Faculty of Business.

The workshop was organized and supervised by Dr. Eman Mayah and sponsored by the Head of the Department of Design and Visual Communication, Dr. Musab Al-Qudah. It was held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, via Microsoft Teams.

The workshop aimed to empower interior design students to understand and develop a professional business model that enables them to transform their creative skills into successful and sustainable projects, with a strong focus on practical market requirements. The topics covered included the concept of a business model, identifying target audiences and client needs, income sources for interior designers, service pricing and cost management, building a professional identity and personal brand, marketing strategies, client acquisition methods, and real-world examples of successful models.

The workshop concluded with Dr. Rima Al-Hassan guiding participating students in developing their own business models. Students praised the workshop for its significant role in strengthening business thinking alongside artistic creativity and
