شارك عشرات من طلبة كلية الفنون والتصميم في الجامعة الأردنية اليوم في فعاليات "مهرجان الفنون الثاني" الذي عقد في مختلف مرافق وباحات المبنى الجديد للكلية.
وقال عميد الكلية الدكتور كرام النمري "إن المهرجان يترجم توجهات الجامعة بشكل عام في التفاعل مع المجتمع المحلي, وكذلك أغراض الكلية بعرض انجازات الطلبة من مختلف أقسام الكلية البصرية والموسيقية والمسرحية لأهاليهم وللمجتمع على حد سواء".
وأضاف النمري أن كلية الفنون تسير بخطاً ثابتة ورؤية واضحة نحو تطوير الكلية وتحقيق الطموحات في الوصول إلى مستوى مرموق محلياً وعالمياً, وتخريج طلبة يحملون ارث الماضي وتطلعات المستقبل.
واشتمل المهرجان على العديد من الفقرات, فقدمت مجموعة من طلبة قسم الموسيقى لوحات فيروزية عزفاً وغناءً, فيما قدم طلبة قسم الفنون المسرحية عدة مشاهد مسرحية أبرزت مهارات الطلبة في تقمص الشخصيات وكان بعضها بأسلوب شكسبيري.
وتزينت جدران الكلية وممراتها بلوحات فنية من إنتاج طلبة قسم الفنون البصرية, ووزعت أكثر من (100) قطعة فنية منحوتة بأيدي الطلبة من مختلف المواد في كل زوايا وساحات الكلية.
وانتشرت معروضات الحرف اليدوية من حلي ومجوهرات تقليدية وعرائس الدمى في فناء الكلية لتكتمل بذلك صورة المهرجان بتنوع لافت أثار إعجاب الحضور من طلبة الجامعة وأساتذتها وأهالي الطلبة والمدعوين من المجتمع المحلي.

قدم عدد من طلبة كلية الفنون والتصميم عرضا موسيقيا اشتمل على مقطوعات موسيقية كلاسيكية غربية وعربية. وأعرب المشاركون في المؤتمر عن سعادتهم بزيارة الجامعة الأردنية مشيدين بالمستوى العلمي الذي حققته كلية الفنون والتصميم في إعداد كوادر بشرية في المهن الموسيقية . ويشارك في اعمال المؤتمر عدد من الأكاديميين من الكويت ومصر وفلسطين وسلطنة عُمان ولبنان والجزائر وسوريا والسودان والعراق إضافة الى المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية.
قامت مجموعة من طلبة كلية الفنون والتصميم في تخصص التصميم الداخلي بزيارة علمية يوم الخميس 6/12/2012 لإثنتين من المؤسسات المحلية الخاصة والمتميزة والتي تعني الطلبة في مجال التخصص والممارسة المهنية، وهما معرض شهوان للمفروشات ومعرض ناشونال للدهانات، وتحت إشراف كلا من المدرسة شيرين سبع طبلت والمدرس مصعب القضاة والمدرس معتصم كرابلية، وقد اطلع الطلبة على أحدث ما تمّ التوصل اليه في مجال التصميم الداخلي والأثاث وطرق تركيبه وتصميمه. لا بل أحدث أنواع الطلاء وطرق مزجه وتركيبه وإنتاجه. ومن الجدير بالذكر أن هذه الزيارة قد انعكست ايجاباً على ثقافة الطلبة العلمية وأعطتهم إضاءات عملية وخبرة جديدة تساعدهم في ربط معرفتهم الأكاديمية مع معطيات سوق العمل المحلي وما يقدمه من مواد وخامات ومنتجات تتوافق مع ابداعاتهم التصميمية بما يرتقي لمستوى طلبة الكلية والجامعة الأردنية كما هو معهود عنها ذلك على مدى أجيال وعلى صعيد كافة كلياتها وتخصصاتها المتنوعة.
the Patronage of the Presidents of the University of Jordan, the dean of college of arts and design at University of Jordan opened the opening ceremony of the festival on Jan 6th 2013. The opening play is called "Abu Shakoosh" a vivid take on the urban legend murdered Abu Shakoosh, written and directed by Waheed Kwasmi, and supervised by dr. Fadi Skeiker.
The festival will last till Jan 9th 2013 at Osama Mashini theatre in Lweibdeh, Amman, Jordan.
Cairo – Amman Bank’s Gallery presented Selected Works of seven Jordanian artists from the generation of pioneers, this 7 * 7 exhibition included works of painting, sculpture, ceramics, and graphic accomplished by: Keram Nimri, Muhanna Durra, Princess Wijdan, Mahmoud Taha, Mahmoud Sadeq, Nasr Abdul Aziz, Yasser Dweik.
Arts Journalists and experts discussed the real impact of media in the dissemination of arts culture in the Jordanian society and its role in the formation of public opinion regarding the importance of arts. This came during a seminar held by the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of Jordan under the title "Media and Arts in Jordan" patronized by Pro. Karram Al Nimri, Dean of the faculty. The seminar addressed the responsibility that rests on the shoulders of media in raising awareness on arts, and the willingness of the Jordanian society to accept arts and interest in the study and practice of arts, as well as what is required of arts students and practitioners to help the media achieve the goal of making arts an integral part of our lives. Jamal Ayad, Journalist and theater critic at Alrai newspaper talked about problem exists between the academic study of arts and the art movement on the ground, pointing out that globalization and its implications, in addition to the unwillingness of the 3rd World countries have increased the breadth of this problem and caused a real mess
برعاية الدكتور زيد عيادات عميد كلية الدراسات الدولية والعلوم السياسية والدكتور كرام النمري عميد كلية الفنون في الجامعة الأردنية , إحتفلت كلّية الفنون والتصميم صباح يوم الأحد 31 آذار بإفتتاح معرض بعنوان (طلابي 1) لأعمال فنية نفذها طلبة مساق الرسم الجرافيكي بالحاسوب في تخصص الوسائط المتعددة بمستوى السنة الثانية تحت إشراف الأستاذ فؤاد الخصاونة , حيث تناولت إبداعات الطلبة مواضيع متصلة بشأن حقوق الإنسان من مختلف الجوانب والزوايا , وتميّز المعرض بتنوّع التوجّهات والرؤى التي من شأنها إبراز قضية حقوق الإنسان وتسليط الضوء على تفاصيلها من خلال اللوحة الجرافيكية المشغولة إلكترونيًا في سيطرة واضحة لمعالم الحداثة والتقدّم على المسيرة الأكاديمية للكلّية، ومن جانبه تحدث الاستاذ خصاونه عن الدور التفاعلي للمعارض الطلابيه التي تقام باروقة الكلية والتي تساعد بخلق اجواء ابداعيه وتشجيعيه للطلبه.
حضر الإفتتاح مساعدي عميد كلية الفنون والتصميم ورؤساء الأقسام في الكلية إلى جانب أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية وحشدٌ من الطلبة الذين تواجدوا للإطلاع على أعمال زملائهم .
Theatre arts department at University of Jordan celebrated international theatre day on March 27th. The festivity included presenting theatre scenes, music, and drawing. The festivity was under the supervision of theatre arts department committee dr. Omar Nakrash, dr. Fadi Skeiker, and Joyce Raei. The international theatre day letter was translated by Ayman Shareef and read by dr. Yahia Bashtawai. The festival was under the patronage of the dean of college.

Theatre Arts department in collaboration with the British Council in Jordan hosted an interactive theatre performance on Wednesday 24/4/2013. The Play used forum theatre style which depends on the interaction between the audience and the actors. This activity was attended by the dean of the college of arts and design in addition to arts and design students.
Dr. Ayman Tayseer – head of music department- has participated in the second edition of Amman Jazz festival. Dr. Tayseer sung in two concerts held at Zara theatre in the 28th and the 29th of April 2013. He re-presented his original innovation of "Jazz Abdel Wahab" that succeeded to meet the urgent need to promote Classical Arab music so as to reach the young generation as well as the foreigners. The idea was facilitated by the joined status between Arab and Jazz music that both involve "improvisation", which ascends the listeners to the peaks of the spirit of music. Dr. Tayseer in his innovation, has formulated a mix between western instruments such as piano, guitar, saxophone, and drums with the oriental ones such oriental violin, qanoun, and nai. The songs were presented in the same melody composed by Abdul Wahab, but the background music is jazz, with maintaining eastern segments as its original.
In May 2013, HRH Princess Wijdan Al- Hashemi met with the UJ President, Prof. Ekhleif Tarawneh , the deans of the faculties, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Prof. Keram Nimri and the faculty board, on the unveiling of a sculpture granted by the Lebanese artist Hussein Madi as one of the most beautiful and unique sculptures.
The opening of the exhibition department of visual arts , under the supervision of the head of Department, Dr.Mohammad Nassar and the faculty staff on Monday, 29/07/2013 . At the Faculty of Arts and Design with existence of participating students and college students and parents, Which contains the realization of the students and their achievements for graduation projects.
The 12th Jordan Theatre Festival for Young Artists opens its activities with a graduation project for a fresh theatre graduate, Abdellah Aljarayan, with his project, Shrood, which is supervised by Dr. Fadi Skeiker. In Aug 17th 2013 , The play was performed under the patronage of the minister of culture in Jordan in Royal Cultural Centre .
"Vent" is an informative educational documentary film that takes us in a journey with 15 Arab Spring involved participants at the "ARTiculating Peace Workshop "held in Amman 21 Aug. 2012 – 27 Aug.
The idea of this project is to bring youth aged from 15-17 from different backgrounds, ethnicities and religions and support them to share, express and tell their experiences during the Arab Spring and conflict periods then start sketching the anticipated future for their countries through creative arts.
The aim of this project is raise youth activism, enforce tolerance and dialogue and empower youth to express their thoughts and build a positive role in their communities. The project was directed by Dr. Fadi Skeiker, and Lina Hamdan.
The faculty of Arts and Design / Theater Arts department organized a course entitled "The educational role of the school theater” in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Dr. Keram Nimri and with the participation of the academic staff, this course was held at the theater arts building on 25th of September 2013.
Engr. Fadi Al-Ghawanmeh, the faculty member in Music Department has recently participated in the European competitive academic mobility program "Dunia Beam". He visited the University of Bologna \ Italy and conducted seminars and discussions about Arab music as well as his experience in utilizing modern technology to serve it. Engr. Al-Ghawanmeh also discussed the awanmeh also discussedeam" ulty member in Music Department has participated in possibility of promoting research collaborations between music faculty members in both institutions.
Art Ceramic Alrako is a very ancient process, it is a technique of burning ceramic using fire and smoke. The ceramic is burned for a short time in a gas-fired furnace until it reaches a range of temperatures between 900-1000 ° degrees Celsius. After this, the ceramic is left in the furnace until the glass is ready and then is taken out in a state of redness. Then the glowing ceramic pieces are placed in a metal box with flammable materials such as paper, were operating temperature resulting from Alrako to keep fire in this material. Then the ceramic is left inside exposed to high reduction - state. Unique patterns of Alrako ceramic were made by the lecturer Shaniar Abdullah and Mr. Jacob Otoum on 11/05/2013 at the Faculty of Arts & Design
The students of interior design at the faculty of Arts and Design made a scientific visit to National Paints and held a workshop on Tuesday ,12/11/2013 under the supervision of the lecture Shereen Tabbalat , the workshop introduced the student decorative paints and how to take advantage of the colors according to the multiple functions of internal voids .The students also learned about the method of mixing these colors by practical application through making different paintings for all products.

مهرجان كلية الفنون والتصميم الدورة الثالثة (19-23) تشرين ثاني 2013
In the presence of HRH Princess Wijdan al-Hashemi, and a crowed of artists, intellectuals and media figures, the events of the third Faculty of Arts and Design Festival commenced today at the University of Jordan (UJ).
At the beginning of the festival, HRH Princess Wijdan opened Samir Al Rifai Theater, the oldest theater in Jordan (founded in 1963), after being restored.
Her Highness commended efforts made by the organizers of the festival, expressing pride and calling for further progress and development.
Tarawneh confirmed in his speech at the opening ceremony that the Theatre is part of UJ’s history, and explained that by its restoration we restored its former glory and the voices and creativity of the preceding artists who granted the Theatrical movement in Jordan its admiration.
Tarawneh also referred to UJ’s intentions to establish an opera house as part of considering art as the soul of humanity.
Referring to the importance of arts, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Festival, Prof. Keram Nimri said: "The artist is the official spokesman of his time". The artist has the responsibility to transfer his nation’s legacy, maintain its originality and add to it, according to Nimri.
Assistant Dean and Master of Ceremony, Fouad Al-Khasawneh stressed that the overall aim of this annual festival is to become the nucleus of local and international festival along the lines of Jerash Festival and an opportunity for cultural and arts fields to gather on campus.
Following the opening ceremony, two Fine Arts exhibitions will be opened, the first in the main university library lobby and a second at the Deanship of Student Affairs, then, at 3:00 pm a play directed by Noureddine Daibes will be shown at Samir Al Rifai stage.
The second day events will begin with opening a bazaar in the courtyard of the faculty, also a band called “telfreek” will be performing later on Samir Al Rifai Theater, then the Music Department will present its concert, next a play directed by Laith Arinat will be shown, and the day will end with a concert by Jordanian artists Tariq Al Jundi and Nasser Salameh.
The third day events include a concert by the young band “Obedar”, In addition to a symposium in which the late poet Habib Zeudi will be honored, and a play directed by Osama Al Jarrah.
The last day of the festival, the largest gathering of design students in Jordan will be taking place at Samir Al Rifai Theatre under the title ”Hi Design Day” and will comprise a musical presentation by the University of Jordan Choir.
The faculty of Arts and Design at UJ hosted the designer kim Hong Ki from LG company on thursday, 5/12/2013 at the college theater to talk about the art of design and the fashion design.
The president of the University of Jordan, Professor Dr. Ekhleif Tarawneh honored the members of the third festival committee of the faculty of arts and design for their distinguished achievements at the festival. The dean of faculty Dr. Keram Nimri also thanked the JU president for his continuous support to the faculty.
On Wednesday March 19th, 2014 ,Students from the visual arts department visited two Art Galleries of the artist Dr. Jehad Al-Ameri, holds the title of (Tattoo on Water) , As well as the artist lecturer Ibrahim al-Khatib, holds the title (Jerusalem in Amman ).
The students of Arts & Design paint a wall mural in the faculty of Business at the University of Jordan. The mural was designed by Bayan Abu Kiwanis, Aseel Jaber, and Hanan Al ja'bari with the help of the Arts volunteer group.
The Department of Music held its annual concert on Monday, May 19th, 2014, in the Samir Al-Rifa’I auditorium at the University of Jordan. The concert was under the auspices of the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design Dr. Keram Nimri, and in the presence of his deputy, head of the Music Department, a number of faculty members and many students. The concert featured different musical pieces varied between Arab and Western styles, and between the individual and collective playing performed by the students and faculty members.
The concert started with the national anthem chanted in three voices and performed by the Arts & Design Concert Choir conducted by Eve Sada Omeish, followed by a number of classical pieces in three voices in different languages such as English, German, and Japanese representing different styles and eras.
The Concert also included a number of prices performed by the students and faculty members in solo and duet. The Arabic ensemble concluded with some Arabic songs led by Miss Oubaidah Madi, the songs represented Arabic musical heritage.
It is noteworthy that the Music Department sought through the diversity in the concert program to improve the students’ skills in vocal and instrumental performances, as well as to broaden their experience in performing various Arab and Western forms. The department also sought to raise the music appreciation abilities of the students from the various disciplines.
The University of Jordan celebrated Independence Day on Monday,May 26th 2014, part of the celebration was the opening of the interior design show for the students of visual arts department/faculty of Arts and Design. The opening of the show held at the Deanship of Student Affairs under the auspices of the president of UJ Dr. Ekhleif Tarawneh and in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design Dr. KeramNimri, faculty members, and university students. The show contained a large number of students' works and achievements within the courses that have been studied during the school year under the supervision of the lecturer Shereen Tabbalat.

Theater Arts Department at the University of Jordan is announcing its seventh festival of graduation projects for its students. The festival will be between May 31st and June 5th at 4 pm at the Sameer Arefaai theatre at the University of Jordan.
Students will get the chance to present their projects to the audience and be introduced to the theatre community in Jordan.
Dr. Omar Nakrash, chair of theatre department says that this year has a special flair because festival is taking place in the historical theatre inside the university. Dr. Fadi Skeiker, coordinator of the festival states that this festival will be presenting international and Arabic plays in addition to one devised play.
