Objectives: This study aims to explore the dynamic interaction between graphic art and its recipients, drawing insights from artist Soto's experience with interactive installations. It seeks to address key questions, such as how Soto achieved interactive artistic engagement in his installations, particularly in relation to the recipient and external surroundings. The research also examines the impact of these works on the reception mechanism of installation art.
Methods: The study used the descriptive analytical approach in observing and analyzing four works of art by the artist Soto and their impact on outer space with the recipient.
Results: The study showed that the interactive installation of the artist Soto took his artistic achievement out of its narrow space to the galleries to open up to a wider field in partnership with outer space. It also revealed that interactive installation is an example of the overlapping of arts, as a group of arts participated with each other to produce a contemporary artwork that proceeds from the interaction of the recipient within his culture.
Conclusions: The study concluded that the recipient forms an essential component of the texture of the interactive installation work. It also showed that Soto's work has contributed to integration and unity through the integration of the recipient's body into the texture of the artwork. Recipient interaction within the artwork has added integrated aesthetic values conveyed through the interplay of visual and sensorial elements. This significantly enhances the overall impact of the artwork.

this research aims to reveal the image of poetry in contemporary Arab art, by attempting to answer the research questions: how did the Arab artist repre-sent the poetic language and transform it into a visual language, and what are the poetic themes and the mechanism of producing the artwork? The researcher relies on the descriptive analytical method to dissect the artistic works that were inspired by poetry, choosing artistic experiences of five artists from different countries whose works focused on the research topic based on the theoretical framework of the interplay of arts (poetry and painting). This study aims to reveal the importance of the poetic image in shaping the visual image in contem-porary Arab art and to explain the effect of the artist’s inspiration from poetic poems. The study culminated in several key results, among which the most note-worthy is the substantial influence of poetry on contemporary Arab art, both thematically and in the artistic process. This research highlights the emergence of innovative forms in Arab art, particularly the integration of art books along-side traditional painting and the incorporation of Arabic calligraphy into the very essence of artworks that draw inspiration from poetry. These findings under-score the dynamic interplay between literary and visual arts in the Arab artistic landscape, reflecting a rich fusion of mediums and styles.

This conceptual paper aims to present a multimodal critique of the visual language in the short film Ismail. It analyses the social semiotics represented in the film's composition of image and language, which portrays a day story from the Palestinian visual artist Ismail Shammout (1930-2006) in the diaspora. From an aesthetic perspective, the research focuses on the social construction of an artist's identity through visual language. Such film transforms the artist's narrative into a communicational oeuvre in Arabic to represent an individual description of the Palestinian diaspora, which constructed one of the prominent grand narratives in the modern history of Arab Art. The main character in the film is Ismail, a Palestinian painter who performs his daily job as a candy seller in the streets. The argumentation in this critique depends on the aesthetic manifestations of the social semiotics of Arab Art in the film. Throughout the …

Instrumental learning in music education is a complex process that requires specific teaching methods and strategies and entails a variety of intricate social, behavioral, cognitive, and emotional elements that collectively shape students' academic development. The coronavirus pandemic forced a change from face-to-face to virtual instruction of musical instruments. The present study explores the impact of this shift on music students' perceived learning outcomes from a behavioral perspective by examining the effect of remote teaching on students' learning environments, interpersonal relationships, and intrapersonal reflections-factors that influence behavioral attitudes toward learning. A questionnaire was distributed to music students who undertook instrumental lessons at the University of Jordan during the pandemic. The analyzed data suggested that participants were less motivated to practice their instruments remotely, had lower senses of competence and self-regulation, and were dissatisfied with the learning outcomes achieved during the pandemic. Due to the scarcity of students enrolling in music programs at the University of Jordan and in the country more broadly, the research used a small sample size of 32 participants. This sample size can maintain the study's findings, as many scholars presented evidence that a minimum number of 30 participants can be statistically sufficient for testing research hypotheses in certain fields (Kish, 1965; Louangrath, 2017). The authors urge educational institutions to consider the findings of this paper prior to adopting instrumental E-learning programs

This study examines the play Paper for Love, written by Jordanian playwright Laila Al-Atrash. Furthermore, it analyzes the views of different ideologies—namely capitalism, absurdism, religious extremism, and religious moderation—regarding the play’s poisonous emissions that threaten the world's sustainability and examines how each of these ideologies views the underlying causes of Earth's environmental degradation. The research shows how the absurdist view, by criticizing the world as it is now, ends child exploitation, war, hunger, and greed. The capitalist view, on the other hand, rejects the capitalist tenets it has been pursuing by destroying the environment while pretending to be religiously fervent. This is because poisonous emissions threaten to destroy the environment. This perception gives false hopes of a redirection of exploitative practices toward the individual and the environment; however, such hopes fade with the alleviation of the impending danger. In addition, the study shows that the characteristics of religious extremism place the danger caused by toxic gases on individuals’ straying from their faith and correlating their misfortunes with a lack of devotion and moral degradation. In contrast, people brought together by love from different religious backgrounds argue that the tragedies in the world are only a byproduct of intolerance and a failure to accept diversity. The author maintains that, although there are international efforts towards establishing legal frameworks intended to prevent genocide and environmental destruction, such efforts, although necessary, are still inadequate.

This study evaluates the availability of daylight inside a university’s dining halls over two days (one sunny and one cloudy) using light meters in real-life sittings. Quantitative monitoring was conducted for horizontal and vertical illuminance levels (HILs and VILs) derived from daylight inside of the dining halls and outside under an unobstructed sky, along with monitoring of the illuminance levels of the artificial light inside. The results are discussed in relation to the minimum recommended HIL value in dining halls of educational buildings (150 lux) set by the Jordanian National Construction Constitution’s lighting code. Further, a questionnaire was conducted with 239 students and employees to evaluate daylight and artificial light from the user’s perspective of the dining halls. HIL, as a dependent variable, was found to vary between the two examined halls, which had different façade fenestrations and hall characteristics. The analysis found that, within the halls, only the area within a 2-metre distance from the north-and west-oriented windows complied with the recommended value, except at breakfast time on a cloudy day. The middle and deepest areas of both halls were significantly lacking in daylight on both cloudy and sunny days. The subjective mean evaluation corresponds with the daylight VILs but contradicts the artificial illuminance levels. As such, subjective needs and preferences may not correspond with objective measurements. This study opens a new path of daylighting research for a largely neglected space: foodservice halls in educational buildings.
