Along with other departments in the college, the Visual Arts Department was established in 2002.

The music department was founded at the University of Jordan along with the establishment of the College of Arts and Design in 2002.
The faculty has professors who have a long and a thorough experience in the areas of music education,music research,conducting,and composition.The music department seeks to create a close relationship between the faculty and the local community based upon the vital role of music in enriching culture and promote the social aspects. It also seeks to attract gifted and talented students to prepare them academially and enrich their musical skills.
Theatre arts department is one of the most vibrant departments at College of Arts and Design at University of Jordan. Theatre arts department offers a platform for creativity, culture, and a vision that is open to both Arab and international fronts. The department offers a degree in acting and directing that aims at introducing students to theatre arts within both Arab and international contexts. The faculty staff are trained in Western and Arab universities and are active professionals in the field. The department is equipped with acting and directing studios, and library that contains Arabic and English books, in addition to DVDs for theatre plays from around the world.

The Department of Design and Visual Communication, a new division of the School of Arts and Design established in 2024, is an extension of the Interior Design and Multimedia Design concentrations that were originally created within the Department of Visual Arts in 2002. This new department employs an experiential approach that integrates both theoretical and practical creative processes for students within the contemporary design and visual communication landscape. The department supports the investigative skills and social responsibility of future designers who will work at the intersection of art, design, and popular culture.
To achieve this objective, the department offers two specialized programs: Graphic Design and Multimedia Design. These programs are significantly aligned with various communication industries such as web and mobile design, print media, television, public relations, and advertising, thereby engaging with the general public and fostering participatory interaction in social culture. Additionally, the Interior Design program covers a range of creative industries, including interior, commercial, residential, and environmental design, as well as furniture design and other related topics.
