(In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful (

Ben Kaldun ( 1332-1406), One of the great Arab scholars, tells us that arts are linked to three major factors: a prosperous city, an open market and a royal patron. These three conditions are still influencing arts allover the world. As a base for their creations and artistic development, artists should master their profession first.

This is what we seek to  achieve by furnishing the best conditions to discover the abilities of our students and to direct them to release their at most artistic creativity.

Art,  still linked to open market; we encourage students to create works of art which meet the needs of the market. The faculty tries to solidate connection with industry and associations dealing with art, by inviting them to visit the faculty and to be acquainted with the abilities of its students.     Usually students take  a practice period for two to four months in an institution suitable to their specialization. The Faculty offers different study plans in its three Departments. The Department of Visual Arts offers five concentrations: History and Criticism Of Art; Drawing and Painting: Sculpture and Ceramics; Printmaking; and Design. The Faculty intends to strengthen all these concentrations but hopes to pay special attention to the Design concentration, which attracts a large number of students. The Department will include Interior, Graphic and Fashion Design in the near future.

The Department of Theatre has two concentrations, Acting and Directing. The first trains students in performance on the stage and in front of the camera, while the second trains them in the complex mechanics and skills required for putting up a theatrical performance, including casting, costume design, stage-set design, and lighting. The Department will offer concentrations in television soon.

The Department of Music has five concentrations: Recital, Singing, Composition and Conducting, Musical Education, and Art Management, a concentration intended to promote artistic activities and public outreach. All concertinos but Art Management are actively taught.

The Department also offers a Diploma and a Master in Music Education.

Scholarly and creative faculty, and its dedicated staff will, we hope, create an exciting and vibrant community that will stand among its peers in the Arab world.
