Music Department is a part of the Faculty of Art and Design. We offer undergraduate and post graduate programs in a variety of subjects; Music Education, Performing, Composition, Conducting, and Art management. Students also have opportunities for ensemble participation. The Department of Music presents approximately 10 concerts and recitals each year, providing performance opportunities for students throughout the University.
The Department features a distinctive and supportive environment for studying music. It emphasizes close interaction between its students and other students at the faculty.
Students’ interests range from Classical “Oriental and Western” music to Traditional Music, Musicology, Ethnomusicology and Educational Studies, as well as Digital and Electronic Music Composition. The entire faculty shares a belief in the importance of musical performance, an activity in which many are regularly engaged, and students receive individual attention in both research and creative projects.
