Eng. Fadi Al-Ghawanmeh returned back recently from France where he spent the last semester as a visiting researcher in LORIA research laboratory at the University of Lorraine. This scientific visit established the infrastructure for a continuous research collaboration on studying the utilization of Machine Learning, mainly Machine Translation, in the automatic accompaniment to Arab vocal improvisation. The researchers from both institutions agreed on planning together, along with other partners, for a common collaboration under the H2020 framework. In addition, the researchers agreed on encouraging the participation of researchers from the University of Jordan in upcoming workshops and activities tackling music & technology to be held in LORIA laboratory.
